APRIL-MAY 2019 | TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

2019 marked the 18th installment of the Festival and the fourth year of programming at the Festival Hub at Spring Studios, where partners and patrons play together. The 5th floor hosts Tribeca Immersive, a sprawling maze of VR and AR experiences, while the 6th floor hosts premiere screenings, Tribeca Talks discussions and exclusive music events.

This year, the Beacon Theatre hosted cinephile favorites: APOCALYPSE NOW: THE FINAL CUT gave audiences a difinitive look at the 40-year old classic, followed by a conversation with Francis Ford Coppola; a THIS IS SPINAL TAP reunion, featuring a conversation and performance by Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Marry Shearer. The Beacon also hosted musical events: the entire WU TANG CLAN was there to rock premiere of doc OF MICS AND MEN; and since rock doc BETWEEN ME AND MY MIND chronicles the brilliant musical architect behind Phish, the TREY ANASTASIO BAND put in a blistering 90 minute set..

Meanwhile, the Festival Hub and BMCC Theatre hosted dozens of world premiere screenings and panel convos, featuring the best of indie mavericks, hero auteurs and cultural icons.
