APRIL 29, 2017 | TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL CLOSING NIGHT
Cinephiles packed Radio City Music Hall for an 8-hour marathon that began with a restored 40th anniversary screening of Francis Ford Coppola's "THE GODFATHER", and continued with "THE GODFATHER PART II". Both films played to repeated applause as characters made their first appearance onscreen and classic lines of dialogue were uttered.
After the second film ended, director and cast reunited on stage (seated in front of a recreation of Don Vito Corleone's office) for a conversation with director Taylor Hackford about the making of both films. The ghost of Marlon Brando loomed large as Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, James Caan, Talia Shire, Robert Duvall, Robert DeNiro and Francis Ford Coppola told stories about the difficulties of casting and on-set shenanigans. It was a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle for film lovers - and one of the most incredible backstage experiences for our grateful team to behold. (And that's saying a lot.)
